Welcome to our first Small Business Spotlight, featuring Studio|170 Salon, Spa, & Boutique. Each month we’ll highlight a small business that is part of the Northville community. These are not reviews or recommendations – we may or may not have personal experience with the businesses featured – they are just way to bring some attention to local businesses and business owners.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Northville, Studio|170 offers a complete package of salon and spa services. The Studio is located on Main Street (170 E. Main, as you might have guessed) and opened 2016, although Studio owner Tita Daskal has been serving the community since 2001 in the same location, as co-owner of Utopia Salon & Spa.
Tita’s passion for artistry and hair has led her to study under various stylists and programs, including Vidal Sassoon, Michael Cole, Redken, and Bumble & Bumble. She has shared her knowledge and experience with the stylists she brings into the salon, encouraging them to grow and develop their own passions. Stylists work on a Level system, based on education and experience. This not only motivates everyone to continue learning and improving their skills, but also gives guests of the Salon a broad choice of stylists to fit their budget and needs.
In addition to the standard cut and color, the Salon offers a number of hair services, including extensions, balayage and ombre, keratin treatments, “Dye-and-Dash” color touch-ups, and event styling and up-dos. Face design and makeup are also provided, including full makeup, eyes only, temporary lashes, brow shaping, and lash and/or brow tinting. A private room is available for full hair and makeup design for bridal parties, girls’ nights out, birthdays, etc.
The Spa at Studio|170 goes beyond the basic mani/pedi to provide luxury services in a relaxed, elegant setting. A wide range of facial services promise to meet every need, and the unique HydraFacial system provides personalized treatments to leave your skin glowing. Waxing services are also available, as well as massages to ease the tension of the every day.
Newer to the Studio is the Boutique, which stated as a small area in front of the Spa and has grown to take over the entire space (the Spa moved upstairs). Filled with clothing, accessories, and homewares and décor, the Boutique promises to delight with chic and trendy items everyone will love.
The Studio is open 7 days a week. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments can be made by phone, on the website, or via the free app.
